Today I wanted to share the answer to the most frequently asked question I get from readers, which is ‘what is the paint color in your home?’ I get it most frequently from this post about the back of our door, but I also often get asked when I show my home in our Instagram feed. Today I am sharing the pretty grayish- cream paint color used throughout our home.
I actually haven’t had an answer to that question, since it was the color the builder painted the entire home one color right before we moved in almost three years ago. For the most part, I have left most of the walls the builder color because while it isn’t my favorite paint color ever, it is a pretty good neutral that works well with our decor.
I kept getting asked what the paint color was, and I felt bad not being able to give an answer so I did some research with the builder and found out the name of the color. It is CITY LOFT by Sherwin Williams.
I describe this color as a light “putty” color, it is not white, not gray, not cream, and not beige but white with a griege undertone. It is a nice neutral that would really work in any space and not overpower a room. We would still like to paint some of the rooms in our home (Covid sort of stalled those types of projects) but it hasn’t bothered me to have this as our wall color for now.
So, that is the answer to the question I kept getting asked! If you are searching for a new neutral paint color for your home you can also see our favorite white/gray paint colors HERE.

I want to change the color of my walls. I want a dark white color with a bold bright trim but I found out that white paint colors have undertones, of blues, grays, yellows and who knows what else.
I love your color especially with the inside door being in color, it’s beautiful. I may copy that, the new neutral and trendy wall color is gray. I don’t like gray on my walls, accessories okay. I’ve recently lost my husband and I’m trying to make my home my own.
Do you have any suggestions for me.
