I know I can’t get enough of being outside right now, I am sure I am not the only one. It’s been beautiful here in Virginia and Christy was even able to enjoy the beach this weekend in Georgia, I am so jealous! While I am loving being outside right now, one space in our house I haven’t even begun to tackle is our outdoor space in our new home. I thought while I wait for inspiration to strike I’d recap some of our previous porches for you today.
The space below is actually Christy’s current porch, at least for a few months more before she moves again, it is a great space and perfect for entertaining. The curtains add that extra bit of privacy as well as a little bit of stylish glam.

Her previous screen porch had the same curtains, it was already a traditional screened-in porch but the curtains also provided privacy from the neighbors, as well as nice ambiance.

This was the porch in our last {rental} house. We spent hours out there during our year there, it was by far our favorite spot in the house. There was a fountain just outside it in the yard, so the white noise made the space so relaxing and again, curtains added privacy.

Our former home on the coast of Virginia had a huge front porch and faced a lake, it was a really great space. We probably entertained on the porch more than we used the inside spaces, and I decorated it seasonally.

One of my favorite porches was Christy’s former screen porch in the original “Magnolia Lane” house…it was a traditional screen porch across the back of her 1920’s home.

We don’t have a porch in this house, just a large raised deck which presents some interesting decorating challenges due to how open it is. I am scouting around for ideas for that space so feel free to let me know if you have any ‘deck decor’ suggestions!

Great layout on these porches! The wicker furniture is a nice touch, sometimes it can be hard to pull it off but when done correctly it looks very nice!
