Friday greetings, friends! We are currently on our way to Florence and Tuscany for Labor Day weekend–how is that for fun? For those of you who are curious, EU residents can travel freely within the Schengen zone countries. If we visit a “red” country then we do need to test and/or quarantine upon return. We had originally planned to go to Paris this weekend, but the Île-de-France region went red about a week and a half ago, so we decided to head south instead. Italy is “green” right now and of course we are being cautious. I’ll be sure to take plenty of pictures to share next week!
Today I’m sharing a few photos of my dear friend Becky’s back deck. This is the same Becky who very graciously hosted Harley for about six weeks, and we stayed with them for a week between packing up our house and flying overseas.
They live on a beautiful wooded lot in Cary, North Carolina, and their deck is one of my favorite places to relax.
Between the sectional outdoor sofa, chair, and ottomans, there’s plenty of seating for everyone.
Becky also has quite a green thumb and her plants add vibrant color (note the multiple pots of mint for bottomless mojitos!).
Although Labor Day weekend is usually the unofficial end of summer, in the south there’s still at least another month of warm weather, so they still have plenty of time to enjoy this outdoor living space.
Many thanks to Becky for letting me share her deck with you (and for letting us impose on her hospitality for such a long time!).
I’ve linked a few of her sources below; selections are limited at the end of the season but the tradeoff is there are some great deals to be found!
Have a wonderful weekend, and thanks for stopping by.

Becky sounds like a wonderful friend, and her deck is beautiful! I live in Greensboro, NC, and we are supposed to have cooler weather this weekend, as in a high tomorrow of only 79 degrees, so I’m definitely planning to be outside as much as possible for the next two months! Have a wonderful time in Italy and stay safe!

She is a wonderful friend–and I owe her big after this summer!
That sounds like perfect weather for September in North Carolina. Italy was hot–less humid than home but definitely warmer than Germany. I was glad to get back to a little chill in the air in the mornings and evenings.
Enjoy the beautiful weather! Christy

I would love to know the color of Becky’s house. That green is gorgeous and so is the deck!

Tami–She said it was that color when they moved in (it’s not new construction) so she has no idea. We’re both sorry we can’t be more helpful!
