Today I am excited to share with you our new mattress by JoyBed. We’ve reviewed other mattresses for you in the past here on 11 Magnolia Lane, but this one was of interest to me because it hit on all the things that are the most important in something you will spend hours of your life on.

JoyBed makes an all-natural mattress and it is made right here in the USA. The mattresses are made of cotton, wool and other plant-based fabrics that breathe and wick away moisture to keep you cool and comfortable.

With my ongoing sensitivities due to my past battle with Lyme Disease, I like to say I am like the canary in a coal mine. My spider senses tend to let me know earlier than most people when I am around something that is chock full of chemicals.  My bedding and mattress is something I tend to be very careful with, after all, I spend hours of my life in and on them! These mattresses contain no foam, dye or other chemicals so they are safe so you get a great night’s sleep. The fabric is even undyed for less toxicity, and the natural components of their mattresses make them anti-microbial and anti-bacterial.

Our new JoyBed mattress arrived quickly and came in a box, you can see it below. Fair warning it’s like the snake in the can once you cut open the plastic (with a handy cutter they provide you) it springs open right to the full size. We selected the JoyBed LXP since I like my mattress on the softer side.

I will caution you is that these mattresses are heavy. I suggest making sure you have it right where you want it before you unbox it, it will be easier that way. My strong teenage son and I had to wrangle ours around to right side up, but luckily he was at home to help me.

While I prefer a very soft mattress my husband is the opposite, he prefers his mattress very much on the firm side. I will tell you he absolutely loves this mattress, it’s really supportive and definitely comfortable to sleep on. Since I like the natural, organic components this is a win-win for us. It can be hard to find a mattress that suits both parts of a couple but this one has something for everyone including other options in comfort and firmness, see more here.

They also offer a 120 night/100% money back guarantee so you can try one out in your own home with no risk. A good night’s sleep is just about everything, right? You can find out more information about the JoyBed mattress and order online here.
