If you’re a regular reader, then you know that we’re moving AGAIN next month. If you’re not a regular reader, then here’s the quick background: my husband is a career Army officer (20+ years) and we move every 1-3 years for his job. Since we started this blog 4-1/2 years ago, my family has lived in this house in Fayetteville, North Carolina:
This house in Nashville, Tennessee:

And this house in Savannah, Georgia:
As an aside, if you’re a renter, the first {yellow} house is a rental, and the above house is military quarters {very similar to a rental}, so you might find some good ideas for rental decor in my home tours. I also wrote a post about decorating rental homes {here}.
Our next house is located in Southern Pines, North Carolina, and I’m so excited to be able to show you a few photos of the exterior today, because it is a beautiful home and I can’t wait to move in and start decorating!
Here it is:

And no, we probably don’t have enough furniture to fill this house…but that will be part of the fun, right? Shirley from Housepitality Designs won’t be too far away, and I know she’ll show me all the best places to score beautiful antique and vintage bargains.

And down the steps, through the trees, is the thing that makes my husband’s heart go pitter-pat:
The fairway of one of the prettiest golf courses in the Southern Pines/Pinehurst area!
We were so fortunate–blessed, really–to find this house. I’ll have to tell the story in a separate post; maybe after I go up to paint at the end of the month and snap some interior shots to share with you all. It’s really an amazing story and I have no doubt that it’s exactly where God wants us to be. {Update: see all the posts about this house here}
And for those of you who know how much I’ve disliked the yucky dark cabinets in the kitchen of our Savannah house, I’m happy to report that this beautiful kitchen sports WHITE CABINETS–yay!! He is faithful in even the little things.
I can’t wait to share this new house with you as we make it home! {Click here if you’d like to be included on our email list–get an email every time we post, and never any spam!}
Thanks for stopping by-

How nice to be able to stretch out again. House looks lovely! Yay for us readers because I’m sure we’ll get to enjoy the transformation of house to home with you
be very happy at your new house!!!
Welcome back! (Almost!) Once again, a beautiful home, no doubt it will be quite a showplace once you finish with it!
Wishing you every happiness in your lovely new home. It’s beautiful!
Christy, I am a new follower. I have to admit that one of the main reasons I started following you is because you are an Army wife living in Savannah. My husband was once the XO of the 24th Med Bn headquartered at Hunter Army Airfield. I was also raised an Army brat as was my husband. I just showed him the photo of your quarters and he was as stunned as I am. Neither one of us has ever seen military quarters as nice as yours. Of course, we have seen the really old, cavernous quarters on very old posts such as Ft. McPherson, Ft. Benning, and Ft. Sam Houston. But we never got to live any of them, lol.
Wow – it looks SO pretty! Can’t wait to see you decorate it 🙂
This home is absolutely lovely and I know that you will decorate every nook and cranny in awesome adornment! As a military family, how many years will you be in this NC wonderland and is this a rental with constraints or are you the owners? I read where you want to retire in GA……Look forward to all the projects…..Absolutely love the porch fans…..
My sister in law lives here! You will probably get to know her. She moved from Northern Calif last year. Has lots of horses on her property and loves it there
Christy, this is seriously MY DREAM HOME!! The exterior is AMAZING..can’t wait to check out the inside. Safe moving friend!!

Congratulations! That house is stunning! I can’t wait to see what you do with it. If you ever need anything in NC, I’m just a little bit away in Charlotte! Just ask!
Ooooh – the house is gorgeous, Christy! I can’t wait to hear all about how you found it. BTW – I live in Greensboro and won’t be too far from you either. Would love to meet up sometime with you and Shirley for a girls day!
LOVE the new digs! So excited for you and your fam! I can only imagine how moving so often keeps you on your decorating toes (I’m tired just thinking about it!). Cannot wait to see the fun things you do to this already wonderful space! xx, b
Welcome {back} to NC! The house is GORGEOUS! My brother-in-law travels from Charlotte {where we live} to Southern Pines almost every week and is always talking about how amazing the golf courses are there! I can’t wait to see the interior of the house, or how you are going to decorate it over the next few months!
Can’t wait to see how you make it home. Happy trails!
Hey Christy…just getting back from being away in the DC area and catching up on reading….Oh my gosh!!!!…The house is gorgeous!…not only the house, but the property is amazing!….you have such a beautiful view of the course. I can only imagine how excited you are. Cannot wait to have you in NC….there is a lot of places that I can take you to!!….I am learning that there have been many new barn sales popping up in the area….
