I am so excited that today the 11 Magnolia Lane Holiday Home collection is available! This idea began over a year ago, I actually had a dream that I opened a home store selling holiday items! I guess the idea stuck with me, and with this crazy year it seemed like the right time to offer some holiday decor but offer it online since we’re all staying home more.
As I shared in yesterday’s newsletter, each year my friend Terry and I go to the Luckett’s Holiday Design House and make a fun day of holiday decor shopping. I always have so much fun finding unique, designer holiday decor and what I find there always impacts how I decorate for the holidays. The fun Lucketts finds mean more to me than the more generic ornaments I typically use to fill out our trees and so I started making more of an effort to acquire better ornaments that we’d appreciate for years to come.
Also, since we share our holiday decor online and therefore do tend more toward showing off different themes and colors, I realize that most people don’t buy an entire tree worth of decor just because say, this year everyone is decorating with blue, right?! So I wanted to create collections that you could use to inspire your decor and then build upon for years to come. A few beautiful (or whimsical, as the case might be) ornaments, mixed with some generic ornaments in a base color and some fabulous ribbon really is all you need to create a gorgeous tree or tablescape.
First, before I get to today’s collection while sourcing items I found a few giftable items I wanted to be able to offer as well, like these fun blue and white ginger jar ornaments that are perfect for your stylish girlfriends. They seemed like they needed to be part of our shop considering how much blue and white we showcase in our homes!
There are also some very fun cocktail signs I just couldn’t resist because this year more than ever we all really need some holiday cheer! Even if you don’t have a bar cart these are perfect over any holiday drink display.
The Greens + Plaid Collection
The first collection I have to share is the Greenery and Plaid Collection. Using classic black and white has been a decorating trend for the last several years and I don’t think it is going out of style anytime soon. This collection includes casual elements like three dimensional metal snowflakes, mixed with whimsical vintage inspired ornaments and gorgeous black and white plaid ribbon. I also mixed in some dark green ribbon, some galvanized metal bins filled with greenery and some very pretty dark green glass ornaments.

I love how these metal snowflakes pop out of the tree, they look great against the dark green branches and add depth and dimension.
Something about these vintage Ski/Snow/Winter ornaments appealed to me, I loved their casual style and retro appeal. They are sold in a set of three. I just thought they were so fun, and had that nostalgic feel that I am really loving this year.
I selected some faux greenery for the store because I use tons of it throughout my home each holiday. While fresh greens are always nice, I loved how these branches mixed several types of greens for a natural look. You can display them on a mantel or in a pot, like the fun galvanized metal containers that come in both a large and small size. You can mix it with the red berry sprays which are completely a holiday classic.
I also stocked these metal “Merry Christmas” signs, they look great displayed on a shelf, hung on a wall and of course, they would also make a great gift.
I have been collecting these beautiful mercury glass ornaments the last several years from Lucketts. I have them to offer in two sizes (these also will carry across collections as they are so versatile). Of course, these make wonderful gifts. I found very similar ornaments at Pottery Barn at almost $20 each, FYI!
You can easily recreate this type of look for your holiday home this year. A simple evergreen tree, some retro style ornaments, some natural elements with some bold black and white ribbon are really all you need. This look would be perfect in a casual living space, a loft or even a boys room.
