I hope your week is going well! Today I wanted to share some seasonal things so I have a bit of a ‘Free for All’ post. I am sharing garden updates (since that is what is consuming most of my time) as well as pretty Easter dresses and decor.
Also, thank you for the warm response about our kitchen renovation. I appreciated it, and I will be sharing our laundry room/storage area in a post very soon to wrap up covering all our renovation projects. For the time being we’ve moved all our outside projects and boy, do we have a lot to do.
Here is an in progress picture of what is the start of our vegetable garden, this is my focus right now. I added the two larger new beds this weekend and am now waiting on two more. Eventually these will go into a permanent, fenced off area but we’re still determining exactly where that will be as part of the larger landscaping plan that is still developing. For this year, I am just trying to get the beds started and see what grows. A side-note for you gardeners, I will be pulling up the landscape fabric you see above for a more natural one; after research, I went with this one as it seemed to be a safer option to have where food will be growing.
Landscaping takes a long time, it’s hard to share on a blog because it takes years to mature and be photogenic, and we have quite a bit to do. For now my plan is to start with an expandable kitchen garden. Once that’s underway I’m hoping to move on to a cutting garden. I have successfully started some of my plants from seeds, I feel like that is a step in the right direction! My simple set up is just some grow lights by a sunny window on my beverage cart, but the seeds sprouted so I am feeling pretty optimistic. {I mostly used these seeds}.
I’ll share more about the garden soon, and I am trying to do more regular updates on Instagram as it is easier to put things up real-time there. One more development as we fully embrace this life out in the country, my husband came home with 4 baby chicks today! I wasn’t actually aware we were getting chickens this year but I am secretly glad he just decided to push forward. I am on the hunt now for a chicken coop that is both functional and not completely unattractive, wish me luck! Chicken owners send me your best tips 🙂
With all that we have going on we aren’t traveling this year for Spring Break, as I have a huge list of projects to knock out and we will be hosting on Easter. I have been gathering my inspiration (You can see our collection of Easter related posts here) and I am thinking this green tablecloth may just be the jumping off point for my table.
Another pretty one is this one below, I love the pink and green, it feels very spring-like.
Also, I wanted to share some of the prettiest Easter dresses I have found. I am not necessarily on the hunt for a new dress, but I have THREE graduations in May (all three of my kids have one) so I definitely am looking for a versatile dress or two to wear to all the upcoming events.
Here are some of the prettiest dresses I have seen (you can click on each image for more information). I actually ordered this dress already, it is very casual but it was too good to pass up!
