While I can’t yet show any pictures inside my home {edit: you can now view the Home Tour here} as we are still in unpacking mode, and waiting on some final details to be installed –like our fireplace mantel– I can reveal my new porch!
{These quick and easy pots line my stairs, scroll to the bottom to see how easy they were to make.}
Hands down, this is my favorite spot in (or out of) our house. It was an absolute necessity in our floorplan so we could enjoy the view of the lake from our lot, and it expands the living space in our new home. I could NOT wait to “decorate” the porch.
We have already put it to good use, but I finally found some time to add some seasonal details to make the space feel more livable.
Now, here is how I made the pots to line our front stairs.
First, I bought inexpensive terracotta pots at Home Depot. Then I spray painted them with glossy black spray paint. Finally, I stuck the vinyl decals {I ordered the “B” and polka dots on Etsy} on the pots–no sealing, no priming, I did it the easy way! They looked great. {note: they lasted approximately 2 years out in the elements, pretty good for a simple project}.
Thanks for stopping by!
