We usually pick our own when we visit family in Michigan in August, but we can’t make it up north this summer due to some scheduling challenges. So, I scooped up several quarts for just a couple of dollars at the store a few weeks ago:
My favorite blueberry cobbler recipe is below. If you like a crumbly topping, then this one isn’t for you. The batter is more like a dumpling, thanks to the boiling water that you pour over top of everything before baking. It’s an easy recipe, and shows off fresh blueberries to perfection! Here’s the recipe:
Serve it with ice cream or whipped cream–or BOTH! A little lemon zest on top adds zing and color.
And as I mentioned in the recipe, this also works great with fresh peaches. Those are just coming into their peak down here in Georgia, so guess what I’ll be making this weekend?!
