Apparently it’s the last day of summer so I thought I would share a few fall shots from around our house to kick off the season. I have had several projects going on that required some “Fall” images so I pulled them together into a quick, seasonal decor post. Our temperatures really dropped this week, so it’s been much easier to get in the fall spirit.
I recently updated our foyer decor and added a gold side chair, because gold goes with everything these days doesn’t it? It warms up the small space. My clam shell is one of my favorite decor items, it’s always filled with something seasonal, right now it has moss and grapevine balls. I got it for such a great price, I will include sources for everything I can at the end of the post so just scroll down if you are curious about something–like that gold mirror, it’s less than $40 :)!

Adding this table to our hallway made such a difference in how this space feels, especially in a narrow space like this. I see this table everywhere, it’s huge on instagram because it is so inexpensive and versatile, plus it’s the perfect spot to display seasonal decor. I am constantly changing what is on it since I walk by it about a hundred times a day. Right now I have an antique dough bowl filled with all sorts of natural and rustic elements.
I love these DIY shelves in this niche in our kitchen because of course, Christy helped me build them {see more here}. They have a very rustic look compared to much of our home, so they seemed to be calling out for Fall decor. Our extra s’mores supplies have found a home here, my kids sure love how accessible that is. I displayed some of my antique silver mixed with some other touches, somehow it all seems to work together.
If you missed how I {by “I” I mean my awesome Dad} DIY’d these built-in shelves in our library you can see more here. I keep adding things to the shelves, it’s an ongoing project around here to find fun items to display.
Our dining room also got a few autumn touches. Dried hydrangeas are my favorite anytime but especially in the Fall. The neutral colors in here {gray/white/gold} make it so easy to style the room seasonally. I am leaning toward repainting with a darker paint color soon, as the current color {BM Moonshine} seems to be washed out by how much light the room gets.
Our family room couch is probably the most used spot in our home, since we’re currently going through a kitchen makeover in the background it was hard to get a decent picture of this room. I have a plan to give our coffee table a complete makeover, stay tuned, it is definitely long overdue.
I already showed off how I quickly and inexpensively updated our deck for Fall, you can see more about that here.

Your house is just beautiful, and I especially like the console table. I have a kitchen table that I want to refinish. It’s from LL Bean and it’s sort of varnished pine maybe (?). I would love for it to have that same finish… Any idea how to achieve that? Thanks for all of the inspiration you provide… Love your blog!!

Hi Sara, I think you would need to sand your table all the way down to the natural wood and remove all the varnish. Then you could find a similar stain in a very light color and restain it. You may need a little white wash in the corners to give it that “aged” look mine has. I hope that helps, good luck with your project!

Amy

Everything looks beautiful! I love the warm and cozy feeling your decor provides and it’s so tastefully done. There is a new HomeGoods just behind these apts….walking distance! 🙂 Kirkland’s, Ulta, Michael’s, Cato and more coming. Anyway, I had to return something to HomeGoods this afternoon and they have some absolutely beautiful grey towels with tiny white polka dots! I tried to figure a way to use them but haven’t thus far. You might check your store if interested.
Thanks for sharing with all of us!
