If you read our Sunday newsletter, then you know that my husband and I are staying with Amy and her family this week. We are having the best time!
They picked us up–along with our twelve bags + 1 cat–at the airport on Friday night and have pretty much spoiled us rotten ever since. I think we’re both officially over our jetlag at this point, thankfully, and are enjoying a few more days with them before we move into our temporary apartment in Northern Virginia.
Today I wanted to share some pictures from the twilight polo match we attended last Saturday; this was my first polo match in years despite having grown up in horse country (Potomac, MD). A polo match is mostly an excuse for fancy tailgating, and of course it’s traditional to wear all white.
We had fun putting together a picnic for our group of eight (two of Amy’s kids joined us, plus our daughter and her friend came out from DC to join us for an overnight).
Aren’t those Caspari napkins the cutest? We found them in a local shop downtown, but you can buy them online here. We thought they looked very fallish with our copper wineglasses and the coordinating plates.
The weather was perfect for Labor Day weekend and it was much cooler than usual at this time of year in the DC area.
Today everyone’s off to work or school, so I’m doing a few loads of laundry and cooking dinner (I’m making this chicken divan recipe that’s one of our family’s absolute favorites). Amy’s new house is beautiful and of course they have tons of plans to make it even beautifuller. Most of all, it’s comfortable and cozy and filled with friends. We may never leave!
Enjoy your week, and thanks for stopping by.
