We had dreadful thunderstorms here in Savannah yesterday, but it’s sunny and clear this morning. Sadly, the rain rolled in yesterday just as we dragged all of our cast-offs outside for our neighborhood yard sale, so we dragged them back in and sold them from the garage. Am I the only one who likes to “style” my garage sale items a bit?
I still wound up making just over $300, which isn’t bad for 2-3 hours of time (we didn’t start until almost 9am because my neighbors and I were out late the night before, participating in a spouses’ dining in at nearby Ft. Stewart). I stashed it in my “vacation fund” for our annual week at Hilton Head, which this year is taking place in early June before our move to North Carolina. We always stay in Sea Pines, and I can’t wait to try out their new beach club; they were just finishing it up last year when we were there:
Last Sunday, my husband and I were attending a volunteer appreciation reception for our amazing battalion volunteers. We held it downtown at Soho South Cafe on Liberty Street–if you’re ever in Savannah, I highly recommend this as a place to grab lunch. My kids go to school just a block away, so we’re in there pretty frequently. It’s got such fun and eclectic decor, and of course the food is yummy, too. We pretty much took over with almost 40 in attendance, and I brought in my own table decorations and favors:
All of the free printables that you see in the above photo are available {here}.
Throughout the week, my Lilly Pulitzer for Target online purchases have been arriving, so it’s been pretty fun to go to the mailbox every day. I’m still waiting for two more items, but they’re on their way, so maybe tomorrow. If you didn’t stay up all night last week–like I did–and you missed out, then you still might want to check back at your Target from time to time. Ours seems to have “found” a few more boxes and yesterday they had out several packages of glasses, garden stools, a beach towel, and some barware. I snapped some of it up but generously left the rest for others to discover!
I hope you have a wonderful Sunday.
Thanks for stopping by!

Christie! I probably missed a post where you spoke about your return to NC, when does this take place in will you be returning to our area?
Great job on the garage sale! Your vacation plans sound so wonderful ~ The decor and favors are beautiful, as usual!

Our neighborhood had a garage sale on Saturday too….the rains came around 11am; however, by that time we pretty much sold much of it….Glad you were able to add to your vacation fund!
