Happy Sunday, everyone!  Earlier this week, one of my besties, Carolyn, was in town to explore the area–they’re moving here this summer.  We had a blast, and now my aunt and uncle are visiting from Michigan, so what a great week I’ve had!  I’ve been showing my guests all of the fun things that Pinehurst and Southern Pines have to offer.

Like these amazing cinnamon rolls from Broad Street Bakery:

And an afternoon glass of wine on the front porch of the Carolina Hotel is essential!

We also explored my favorite thrift shop (where I found the set of Limoges dishes) and discovered a few new antique stores where I had to snap up not one, but two vintage gold mirrors:

You’re not going to believe it, but the round one was $38, and the rectangular one was only $36.  Coming from Savannah with its much pricier antique market, I was in heaven!

If you live nearby, you might want to mark your calendars for this one:

Even though it’s been an amazing week, I’m ready to enjoy my Sabbath today.  I thought you might enjoy this graphic, courtesy of Brave Girls, and the accompanying blog post “Rest is Not a Weakness.”  I think it’s well worth your time to hop on over and read it.

I hope you are able to unplug and rest a bit today–I promise that’s what I’ll be doing, too!

  1. I have that print hanging in my gallery wall! 🙂 I’ll share a photo with you. I love Brave Girls Club and yes, rest is a must for all. I’m glad you’ve had an enjoyable time with family. Those cinnamon rolls are calling my name…as well as the glass of wine!

  2. Rebecca Purdie says

Glad you had a good time with family and friends.
I just picked up a mirror similar to the rectangle one. Got it at Goodwill for $35.00.
Going to use Rub and Buff silver and hang it in the dining room.

  3. So happy that one of your besties is moving your way!…and you must take me to that thrift shop…those mirrors are beautiful!!!….need to come down and have a glass of wine with you on “the porch”….
