We attended a wonderful fundraising event in our town last night coordinated by the talented Terry of Terry Kaye Events. You may recognize her as one of our original bloggers here at 11 Magnolia Lane. The above picture doesn’t begin to do the night justice, as you can’t see the tented VIP lounge behind me filled with the most beautiful vintage furniture. It was a great evening made more perfect by spectacular Fall weather. My husband even got to put his former bartending skills to good use as a guest bartender and his Apple Cider Martini made with our local vodka was a big hit. I can’t wait to get the photos from the event photographer so I can share more with you all, hopefully later this week.
Since it is apple season here, the orchards around us are in full swing, I thought I would reshare my favorite apple recipe with you. This is a Salted Caramel Apple Crisp and it’s perfect for this time of year!

Finally, I love that blogs bring us into the lives of people we otherwise would never know. We read their stories and experience things through their pictures and words and often our perspective is changed by them. My Mom recently encouraged me to visit the blog Have Some Decorum and I wanted to share it with you. Eleanor is a former decorator living in Paris, living a beautiful life despite suffering from ALS. I love her spirit {warning: she writes quite openly as she says she has ‘nothing to lose’}, she is fully enjoying every good moment she can. I encourage you to pay her a visit, you will not leave untouched.

I wish you a very beautiful Sunday!

I can’t wait to see the photos of the event! Wish I had some of the apple crisp right now with my coffee. I will definitely check out the blog. I think ALS is right up there with Alzheimer’s as far as losing so much. Have had 2 friends that experienced it.
Have a wonderful week and enjoy the little things!
