April is volunteer appreciation month, so a few years ago I created a set of printables to use at an event honoring military volunteers (here) and teachers (here). Those posts have been popular enough that I figured it was time to come up with a different color scheme so you can mix it up a bit this year.
The quotes are designed to print on 5 x 7 photo paper, then I put them in a frame from the dollar store (I can never find the right gold, so I use my favorite gold spray paint). They look great on a table if you’re hosting an event, or they can even be wrapped in a cellophane bag and given as a small gift.
That same gold spray paint is perfect on vases from the dollar store (I do use a clear coat so that fingerprints don’t show on the gold).
(For inexpensive roses, I recommend Fresh Market, and for other flowers, Trader Joe’s.)
To download and print these, just click on the link below and the image will open in a new window. Right mouse click and select “Save As” to save the image to your computer. When you print, select 5 x 7 and “borderless printing” if you have that option; every printer is different.
Gordon Hinckley | Winston Churchill | Terri Guillemets | Mother Teresa | Edwin Hubbel Chapin | David Thomas | Why I Volunteer
For teacher appreciation, several of the volunteer quotes will work, but the two below are teacher-specific:
I also created labels for my favorite “custom” chocolates:
These print on Avery address labels and then you wrap them around Hershey’s Nuggets. Easy!

The volunteer labels are here and the teacher labels are here. When they open in a new window, just save them to your computer (they’re both PDFs) and print.
If you’re giving gifts, then here are the matching gift tags. They are formatted for Avery 22807 tags.

The gray font color I use throughout is hex #808080 and the fonts are Coffeebreak and Special Elite. Both are available through PicMonkey, our favorite user-friendly photo editing software.
If you’re creating your own customized tags using Avery’s Design & Print (another one I absolutely love, and it’s free), then here’s a blank tag you can save and use:
And here’s a blank 5 x 7 template if you want to create your own customized quotes:
You can see that the monogrammed ring/jewelry bowls that I made in this post are still going strong as gift ideas (I have five good ideas and I reuse them constantly).
If you noticed that I haven’t included name tags in this suite, it’s because I’m creating fancy ones on my Silhouette CAMEO; I’ll share them separately when I’m finished. If you need something sooner or don’t have a Silhouette, just use the blank gift tag above in the Avery software and you can customize your own.
Here are all the different things I’ve linked to in one convenient place:
And {HERE} is the post to the last group of printables; they’re a little more bright and colorful.
It probably goes without saying this to 99.9999% of you, but these are free for personal use only. I found the last batch for sale on Etsy and that was kind of annoying.
I hope this saves you some time–please pin or share if it did!
Thanks for stopping by~

I love these. What a wonderful gift to give to a teacher or any volunteer. Gonna pass this along to a friend who is in charge of teacher appreciation at the church.

Thank you for sharing these beautiful things for free! I am working on a volunteer luncheon at my school and they are going to be perfect! Is there a link to the blank 5X7 quote template, or am I missing it? Thank you!
