If you visited my spring home tour of the MCC House earlier this week (see it here), then you know that I shared about 4-5 photos of each room. Well, I have WAY more photos that didn’t make the tour, so I thought I’d share the living room in a little more detail today.
Since I took these photos I hung a vintage gold mirror above the sofa and rearranged the blue and white plates, so I’ll share some photos of that little project soon.
All the sources for the room are at the end of the post, but leave me a comment if you have a question or I missed something.
Brontë and Harley are always nearby when I’m taking photos:
That’s my mom and not-my-dad in the photo, but I love the hat, purse, and white gloves that she’s wearing. It’s actually her friend, Fernando, whom she met while she was studying abroad in Spain (if you’re humming the Abba song now, me too!).
That’s the living room–thanks for stopping by to see it!

I love how you use stacks of books to add varying levels to your vignettes. With many many bookcases in my house, this is something new I am going to try! Thx for the idea.

Yes–we have SO many books and I have to mix them into my decor for them all to fit! Maybe in our next house I can have a library with lots of built in bookshelves, but for now, we just have stacks and stacks of books!

You do such an amazing job of making every house a home. I love the flowers, so pretty and the books are fabulous decor staples.

Thank you, Marty! Using the books as decor just helps me find a place for them since we don’t have room for tons of bookcases right now. Maybe in the next house.

Beautiful Christy. I too love your use of books. They add so much color and texture. Do you happen to know where you purchased the pillows on the left side of the sofa? I have the check pillow from PB and have been looking for some others to go with.
Christy says
The blue and white pillow is HomeGoods and the one behind is actually thrifted, so that’s not much help! I just posted today on the blog about the Opalhouse line at Target–I would definitely try them, too.
