Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and I think we all deserve to treat ourselves this year! Now, I’ve come a long way since the years when I had pink walls AND pink carpet in my room, but it’s still my favorite color and I love any opportunity to add a little bit of pink to my day.
Today I’m sharing some of my favorite (and mostly pink) finds for Valentine’s Day, along with how we plan to celebrate at our house this year.
1 candle | 2 bracelet | 3 champagne truffles | 4 sweater jacket | 5 heart barrette | 6 pink Vans | 7 cast iron Dutch oven
I almost always have a candle burning on our coffee table, and the Voluspa ones are some of my favorites.
This Prosecco Rose scent is perfect, or you can try the rose one below (I use these glasses as vases or to hold brushes, cotton swabs, etc. after the candle is gone).
The Capri line of candles is another one of my favorites, and this is the perfect pink for V-Day:
If a piece of heart-shaped jewelry from Tiffany isn’t in the budget this year, there are plenty of costume jewelry alternatives. I love the size and chunkiness of this brushed gold heart bracelet (and it’s only $18 with code MIXITUP).
Or, this heart charm bracelet is only $12.50:
Chocolate is, of course, essential for Valentine’s Day, and these chocolate champagne truffles are just right for the 14th:
If you don’t want to go out but don’t want to cook everything, check out Williams-Sonoma’s Valentine’s Dinner options. From Beef Wellington, to lobster mac and cheese, to cheese and wine offerings, they have some delicious stuff (I’ve ordered from them before and have always been very pleased).
I also like to order their pink grapefruit line of soap + lotion and cleaning products at this time of year. The smell and the color are both a nice hint of spring!
I think every holiday deserves a pair of matching PJs, and these black and white heart ones look so cozy. Note that the top and bottoms are sold separately so you can get the perfect size.
These French bulldog socks are only $4 or try these super-plush pink house socks for $5.
I’ve shared these sweater-jackets before because they are as comfortable as a sweatshirt but make it look like you made an effort (ha!). Pair this pale pink color with a white T shirt and faded jeans and you’re good to go.
We’re still in the throes of winter here and will be for some time; these pink cashmere gloves have tech tips so you can continue to swipe while keeping your fingers warm. Cashmere gloves are my favorite if I’m not wearing leather ones; they are worth every penny!
If you prefer a more colorful pair, these Kate Spade color block gloves are so cheerful!
I’ve started wearing my hair half-up, half-down recently, and at just $11 this pearl heart barrette is the right price.
These Rifle Paper Company initial mugs have made our favorites list several times over the past year or two; they are so cheerful and make the perfect gift at just $14.
My daughter and I both love these pink Vans sneakers, so we’re going to order them to share now, and decide who gets custody when she goes to college.
Last but not least, you all know how much I love soups and making them in my Staub cast iron pots. Amy has found a much less expensive line by Martha Stewart that performs well, and they have pink pots for Valentine’s Day. This 2-quart size is on sale for $42 and is just the right size for soup for two (plus I love the brass knob!).
I have a 4 quart Staub and it’s really the best size for everyday use, in my opinion. This Martha Stewart 4-quart is on sale for $63.99 (use coupon code HOME). Of course there are plenty of other colors available if you don’t want the pink, but I think it’s so fun.
Our Valentine’s Day tradition is to have Chinese food…in years past my husband and I would go out for a date night, but this year we’ll do takeout and our daughter will join us. I’ll probably add a bottle of sekt (Germany’s version of sparkling wine) and something fabulous for dessert from one of our local pastry shops.
Happy Heart Day, and thanks for stopping by!
