I had intended to write this post sharing follow up pictures after my series of four Morpheus 8 treatments several months ago, but Covid threw a wrench in my plans as it has done with so many things this year!
You’ll remember that I visited a local med spa in January 2019 to see what I could do to freshen up my skin and correct years of sun damage. Southern Pines Aesthetics & Laser Institute (SPALI) recommended a series of treatments and I wrote about my IPL treatment here and my Morpheus8 treatments here. If you’re looking for detailed information about what to expect with either treatment, I share everything about the procedures and recovery in those posts.
If you’re local to SPALI, just mention 11 Magnolia Lane when you book your free consultation and they’ll give you a 10% discount and a $50 post-procedure product voucher!
Today, before I share my before and after photos, I wanted to show you a few photos of their beautiful new office on Juniper Lake Road. It’s decorated in blush and gold and is so relaxing and beautiful.
As someone who appreciates decorating details, I noticed all the special touches the team put into making their new office lovely.
They are offering a modified menu of services right now in compliance with North Carolina’s reopening guidelines. I stopped in just a few weeks before we moved and they have a great system in place.

Now onto my treatment photos. You’ll remember that I did a total of four Morpheus treatments, and one of the benefits of the procedure is that your skin continues to improve for several months afterward. In the photo collage below you can see me before any treatments, after two treatments (about six months after I started), and then after all four treatments (about a year after I started).
I can tell by my droopy eyes in the last “after” photos that I am completely exhausted (we were right in the middle of packing out for our move to Germany and the stress level was sky-high!) but other than the sleepy no-makeup look, I’m still very pleased with how my skin looks after a year. My overall tone is more even and the sunspots I had are gone, and my chin is smoother. (All of these photos are with zero filter, of course)
I have no problem with looking my age, but I also want to look the best that I can for my age, if that makes sense.
Bottom line is do I think it was worth it and would I do it again? Yes, definitely!
Please let me know if you have any questions I didn’t answer in this post; I’ll be happy to answer them. And if you’re local, be sure to give the wonderful ladies at SPALI a call!

Looking great! That moist German air will keep you youthful. I also say I don’t want to look 25, I want to look better than all of the other 64 year olds.
Christy says
Exactly! I want to the best 48 (almost 49) year old I can be. Hopefully German pastries and chocolate will also help in addition to the air! LOL

Thank you so much for posting this. I just had my eyes area done two days ago and I’m still bruised and purple. Yes I do look like somebody punched a bunch of needles in my face to hopefully this is going to help though

I hope by now you’re recovered and starting to be happy with your results (although I do think you need to give it a solid six weeks before the swelling is completely gone and the skin has regenerated). Thanks for sharing your experience with everyone! Christy

You looked lovely before anyway, but I can see the results and they look great! Just the right level of subtlety. Thanks for sharing! I had 2 rounds of IPL a few years ago and loved it. Now if only I could find the right sunscreen that prevents my face from getting new sunspots!
Christy says
Thank you! I agree–it’s hard to find one that wears well under makeup. I try to wear a light foundation with SPF, too, but the struggle is real! Christy

Try Jane Iredale Pader me spf sunscreen! It’s great!

Awesome–thanks so much for the tip!

You look fabulous but I think you always have! I so understand wanting a refresh though. It seems this quarantine stuff has really brought to my attention all the things I’d like to correct/improve! I hope all is going well for you!

Thank you, Pat! Yes, I agree, quarantine has given me a lot of time for introspection…I’m working on my inside instead of my outside right now. 🙂 Sending you hugs!Christy

I had my first Morpheus 8 treatment today. it was PAINFUL, but I made it through. I have two more that I will do in the next two months, but I will definitely take pain meds before this time. Thank you for sharing your information.

Thank you, Christy, so much for sharing. I have neglected my health and looks for many years, and now I have been blessed by a marriage proposal. This looks like the trick for me! I so appreciate your sharing. You are a good sister!
Christy says
My very best wishes to you, Elizabeth! If you don’t want to do something as invasive as this, a peel usually works wonders, too.
Take care and thanks for sharing your good news!

Love that you are so willing to share with us the honest pictures about your recovery. Thank you so much!
Christy says
Thanks, Diane. I’m not normally so transparent online, but since I was one of the first people to get a Morpheus treatment I figured it would be helpful to others considering having it done. I’m glad you found it useful!
