My daughter and I are back from a quick trip to Tennessee last week. We lived in Nashville for two years and Clarksville (about an hour northwest of Nashville) for nine years, so we have lots of friends there still. This trip was fast! We stayed with one of my dearest friends, Becky, and we kept her BUSY.
At the top of my daughter’s must-do list was a visit to White Limozeen, the Dolly-Parton-inspired rooftop bar/pool/restaurant at the Graduate Hotel in Nashville. The decor was so fun that I figured it was worth a post to share it with you all.
Their own website (and this article) are a great source for additional pictures, as it was raining on the day we went and so we didn’t grab any photos of the fabulously pink and Palm-Beachy outdoor dining and pool area. Well, except for this one:
My daughter loves all things Dolly Parton, so you can see why that picture was a must-have, even though it ruined our hair! 😉
I had been trying to book reservations online for several weeks prior to our trip without success–they fill up fast–but they take walk-ins as well. We decided to arrive at 3pm when they opened for a late lunch, and they were able to seat us right away (phew!).
I wasn’t the only one wandering around taking pictures, to be sure. The patrons were a mix–groups of young women celebrating birthdays, couples, and even a family or two with young children. The under 21 crowd has to be gone by 7pm, but before then they serve a mix of cocktails and mocktails.
The food was actually excellent. I was surprised since usually when there’s a ton of ambience the food can suffer a bit, but all of of the small plates that we ordered to share were yummy. I forgot to photograph our sugar snap pea toast, but the cheese board, trout fritters, and pommes are below.
It was the perfect fun stop after a day of shopping; the smiles on our faces are 100% genuine.

Especially this girl’s:

Before we stopped to refuel at White Limozeen, we visited another Nashville landmark (at least in my daughter’s opinion), Draper James. Reese Witherspoon is right up there with Dolly Parton on her list, and she really wanted to do some shopping at their store in the 12 South area of Nashville. To be honest, her wardrobe was pretty scant after a year of lockdowns in Germany, so I was happy when she found quite a few items there. They were having a great sale for the 4th of July and so we stocked up. I linked her picks below (I will be borrowing that strapless gingham dress, I think!).
We had a blast; next time you head to Nashville, put these two stops on your to-do list!
