Today I’m going to share a few ideas for Mother’s Day. I’ve gotten to the point where I like to give obvious “hints” for gift ideas to make it easy for everyone, and of course I’m also happy with a cup of coffee and a lazy sleep-in with no presents required.
I’ve pulled together a wish list of all of my current favorites in a variety of prices; some are inexpensive and some are splurges. You’ll find that many of these stores will deliver before Mother’s Day if you get your order in today, or you can order online and pick up in store. (Sometimes I make it easy on my family and select my own gift; I know that’s cheating but I ALWAYS get what I want!)
I love these pearl hoops and they look great with a ponytail or updo. They’re under $15.
I’ve eyed these initial necklaces for years and they are still going strong. I’m linking to one from Anthropologie and another one from Etsy if you’d like to support a small business (and that one is a little less, too). Both are under $40.
Here’s the Etsy option. You can choose the length you want and whether you want gold, silver, or rose gold.
I love watches. My kids don’t wear them anymore–maybe it’s a generational thing? I’ve been eyeing this one from the Coach Outlet. It’s around $60 right now and I can think of SO many things it would go with.
These Tory Burch hoops are more of a splurge at $128, but I will say that I wear mine at least three times a week. They’re understated and classic.
OK, moving on to pajamas. I have reached the stage in my life where I like to wear matching PJs and these are some of my favorites; they’re pricey but I’ve had mine for two years and they’re still going strong. They have so many cute colors and patterns and they’re 100% cotton and really comfortable.
Gingham is still one of my favorite patterns ever and this pair of Kate Spade pjs is so cute! If gingham isn’t your thing, there are five other patterns to choose from.
I like to take these little perfumes with me when I’m traveling because they don’t take up much space. Tocca is one of my favorite brands and even though scents are so personal, with this little $20 sample pack you’re sure to find one you love.
If you’re looking for a few signature scent, Miss Dior is one of my favorites. If you’re not sure, try the small size until you know that you like it (or spritz some on in the store and wear it for a few hours first).
Maybe it’s because I fly alot and I ALWAYS freeze on the plane, but I think a cashmere wrap is a must have for people who travel. This one is from J Crew and it’s perfect; it works as a scarf, wrap, or blanket. It comes in eleven colors and you can get a monogram added, too. And they’re 20% off right now (use code SHOPNOW)!
Mother’s Day is every day, and now we’ve got the T shirt to prove it!
These Lululemon joggers are some of my favorites; I have them in a dusty rose color from last year and I’m eyeing this lilac pair. I wear them to golf and for walks/hikes. They fit true to size and are really flattering.
This Target tote is great as a purse or beach bag. I carry a similar one when I travel. At $40 the price is right on this one!
We almost always share these Tory Burch Miller sandals because they’re a classic and go with absolutely everything. This is my favorite color, although black is also a good choice. They really never go on sale but I promise you will wear them every day.
Last but not least, I love a good candle, and it’s even better if I can clean out the jar and reuse it for cotton balls, pens, or something else. These are simply gorgeous.
Here’s the full lineup:
Last but never least, while it’s always fun to share our gift guides, I also have to say that I understand that Mother’s Day isn’t everyone’s favorite day for a variety of reasons. I’m coming up on twenty years this month since I lost my own precious mother and it’s definitely a bittersweet day for me for that reason (my post about her is here). I try to concentrate on the blessings in my life, but I’d be lying if I didn’t say that it can be a hard day. Maybe that’s why a little retail therapy helps?
All of my very best for a happy Mother’s Day, and thanks for stopping by.
