Hey there! I am slowly but surely coming out from under the mound of boxes and trying to get back on our regular posting schedule, and since it’s Friday (yay!) that means it’s time to share some favorite things we’ve found this week with you.
I admit that with moving into our new house last week, then the 4th of July, and now trying to get my son launched to a summer program on Saturday, I am a little bit off my shopping game (unless you count hitting Target for extra long dorm sheets? I definitely do not.) but that is OK, because as those of you who like shopping and deals know that next week is the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! So I’ll be ramping back up quickly 🙂 It’s that time of year where half of us are super excited and waking up at 3AM to see what’s included, and others can’t wait until the first week of August because they are sick to death of hearing about it. That is OK! We’ll have plenty of our regular decor content for you too–I should find time to finish decorating some rooms in between loading my online shopping cart 🙂
Anyway, just a heads up that the sale starts the 13th for cardholders, which is good and bad since the very best deals often sell out fast, but good because you have time to think about what you really want to purchase ahead when the regular sale starts. Since this sale is on coming season Fall/Winter items, this is a great time to load up on Christmas gifts too, hard as that is to think about in the middle of July. You won’t be sorry you did come December. Plenty more to come on that, in the meantime we’ll be resting and hydrating and preparing to share with you the best #Nsale deals we’ve found ????.
So while most of what I have ordered recently have been exciting things like metal storage shelves from Amazon for my garage (woo hoo!) and lots and lots of window blinds, I have picked up a few things here and there. Here in Virginia we’ve had the strangest weather year, it was freezing, then it rained non-stop for an entire month, and now it’s scorching hot. So that pretty much means my summer clothes box is the only one I have opened so far, and I found with the new season it was time to make some updates.
I purchased this cute ruffle dress after a long search for something lightweight that was super casual. I needed something to wear to my son’s summer program graduation (outdoors = hot) in a few weeks, but I also wanted to be sure I’d wear it again so I was looking for something very easy/breezy. It’s a nice lightweight fabric and I love the ruffle skirt! FYI–The model must be fairly tall, it is not nearly as short on me and I am 5’7″.
I’ll probably wear a wedge sandal with the dress, but in looking at the model above I think her shoes are really cute and this pair here is a GREAT deal! The chambray would be very versatile for summer, wouldn’t they? I love the comfort of a flat heal, there are several colors including a pretty brown leather and at just $25 shipped they are way too good to pass up.
I decided recently it was high time to up my pajama game a little bit (especially in the summer when you travel and maybe encounter non-immediate family at the coffee pot, am I right?) and started keeping my eyes open for cute summer pj’s. When I saw this pair I know I’d found good ones, because lemons are always fun. They also have a cute matching pair of cropped pants if you prefer that style. While you are at Target, if you missed it when I shared it on Instagram, you can scoop up this pretty kimono for $20, I have been wearing it on repeat these last few weeks!
From lemons to cherries! I am not sure which could possibly be cuter. Another darling pair of summer pj’s, and this cherry pair is also on sale.
Finally, I find the best way to dress on really hot days is to just throw on a lightweight dress, like this flutter sleeve dress (below). I have it in black, and it’s great for just running around. I also love this off the shoulder chambray dress above ($20!), this would perfect for a summer dinner out. Old Navy is having a huge clearance sale, so it is a great time to stock up.
That’s all, I am off to unpack more boxes, have a great Friday!
