I recently wrote a post for Mohawk Creative Home about organized recycling centers and I can tell you there aren’t too many cute ones out there, I had a hard time finding a ton of inspirational ideas to share. I know in our family if our recycling bin isn’t convenient and obvious, the trash becomes the easier choice so we make sure to have one prominently placed in our kitchen. I tuck our bin under the bench in our closet-turned-mudroom, you can see it below. {That post is HERE if you missed it last week}.
We use a simple storage bin from The Container Store, you can find it HERE and they come in two sizes to fit your space. Our bin is 4 years old and holding up great! There is also a nice stacking option if you need to sort your recycling. {Side note: the Container Store Summer Sale is going on right now–it’s a great time to stock up on bins/containers and other organizing supplies, unfortunately these aren’t on sale but they are very reasonably priced}.
I added the “RECYCLE” label from our ETSY store and you can grab one HERE for just $6 to complete your bin.
An easy project and one that blends perfectly into our Kitchen–so much better then the large bright blue bin that the recycling company gives out, right?
See how nicely they coordinate and tuck under the bench? You can see how we built our mudroom HERE.
Thanks for stopping by everyone! I’ll be back later this week with a fun vacation recap–I am still in re-entry mode (and drowning in laundry!) after a fabulous week at the Beach…

I so agree, we need to add one somewhere in the kitchen as our large bin is in the garage. It does end up being easier to just put things in the kitchen trash.

Looks great! The entire mudroom reno is just perfect. Glad you had some time at the beach ~ wish I were there right now.

love love love your closet turned mud room. The recycling bin indoors is such a great idea, I’m so tired of lugging each and every item out to the garage! Very cute how you paired it with the matching dog food bin – what a great space! xx, b

That is great that you can tuck away the recycling bin like that. Did the garbage company provide that one to you, or did you buy it yourself? That brain seems like the right size for a week’s worth of recycled trash.
