My projects have slowed down a bit since we’re moving in less than 3 months, but I am working on one last update in our master bathroom. I’ll show you that next week, but today, here’s a sneak peek of the little stool that I recovered for that space.
Here’s how it looked in the formal living room in our North Carolina house when it was wearing striped silk and pompom fringe:
Then, I glued a grey elastic trim (some people call it gimp) that I found at Jo-Ann around all four sides to hide the staples.
I will confess that I save my trim in between projects and reuse it; it usually can survive several applications when I use a glue gun rather than sewing it on.
That’s all there was to it! This size is perfect to use as a side table or a footstool next to a chair, as a seat at a bathroom vanity or next to the tub (I usually keep towels and soaps on it), or even pulled into the living room as extra seating during a party.
Be sure to check in next week to see the bathroom update, and thanks for stopping by!

That looks adorable! Isn’t it great when quick fixes make a big impact?!

Looks awesome! I really like the fabric and the trim. Have you added any extra padding? I have a bench (sits at the end of my bed) that needs to be covered and painted. You’ve inspired me!
