We filled an apothecary jar with more balls that we’ve retrieved from the back yard–seems like a lot of people slice off the tee and they wind up inside our fence. The dog collects them for us.

My husband sprinkled the ribs with salt and pepper, and then smoked them for several hours until the meat was literally falling off the bone. He finished them off by basting them with Soy Vay Veri Veri Teriyaki sauce and letting the sauce caramelize.

After we ate, the serious golfers migrated into the living room to watch the final round in utter silence, but the rest of us visited on the deck. The tournament was playing out there, too, but at least we were allowed to talk!

I’d love to hear your plans for your next get together in the comments!

What fun! I love the details (always) of your “thrown together” party! 🙂 You would laugh if I showed you photos of me doing that. The deck and surrounding foliage is just beautiful!

How wonderful. I tried to decide which idea I liked most and came to the conclusion that I love it all.
How wonderful! Wish I could “throw together”a party like you do! And what a great theme!
You had the cutest decorations…love how you used the flags and tees…and had to laugh at the “water hazard”….Happy Birthday to your hubby!
Thanks, Shirley! The party was fun, although the serious golfers were very quiet and actually watched the tournament. Go figure! 🙂
