I am back to share a final post about our Dining Room, it’s been a bit of a process but I am done decorating in here for the time being. When I showed this room on Instagram some people thought it was Christy’s space, as I mentioned in the comments that ‘I was excited we finally had a room that was complete’. I can see how that would be misinterpreted since she is the one that just moved! However, we are going through a stage where almost all of our first-floor spaces are undergoing something–kitchen makeover, family room flooring etc. so it feels like we’re in upheaval everywhere around here except for this room. So, no, we’ve lived here a year and I can finally say this space is now pretty much done, obviously we move VERY slowly.
I already showed off my new curtains and several reiterations of them HERE. The final piece of my Dining Room puzzle was the floor. I searched and debated but my heart was just pulled toward this Rug {source at end of post}. It’s currently pretty popular in blogland and also comes in a gorgeous cream color, but I went with the gray.
It’s pretty traditional but this room is pretty traditional so I think it works. It’s also very affordable as far as rugs go {I will link up the sources at the end}, so that is a plus since I have come to the realization that my tastes change too frequently to invest in any one decor style at this point in my life!
I admit at some point I would like to add a dark wood buffet under the mirror so I guess I am not fully, 100% done but it is nice to go ahead and check the box as ‘complete’ in this space. It’s just inside our door so while we rarely use this room it needed to be finished off since first impressions matter, right?
I added this wrought iron urn and faux boxwood from HomeGoods under our DIY chalkboard too. The urn is currently being moved from place to place but it seems to work nicely in here. For now…
I also finally put up the greek key curtains in my Library and they work nicely in there. I’ll be back with a post on how to DIY these shortly. Here is a peek!
Have a lovely day everyone!
