I am squeezing in just a few more images with some fall decor so I can show off our gallery wall and the new console table in our hallway. Decorating this area made a huge difference in how finished our house looked. Rather than a strange and empty half-wall under the stairs, I feel like it looks so much more complete in here now.

I only have just a few extra holes in my wall from trying to get the frames straight. My rule of thumb is to hang the pictures at a similar distance from each other and that seems to give the arrangment enough cohesion. Though why they put a thermostat smack dab in the middle of a wall is beyond me, we just worked around it.

I have been eyeing the Everett Console Table  for months, I watched it go on sale with a nice 25% discount and finally scooped it up. I have seen other bloggers rave about it and thought its narrow size would work well in a hallway. It’s great find at under $250 and I was able to pick it up at the store to save the costly shipping fees.  It has already scored me many compliments, even from people who tend not to notice these things, like my husband and teenage son.

The biggest difference this new set-up makes is we now have some light on that side of the room. With darkness falling at 5pm, my buffet lights brighten the entire hallway. I am going to swap out the shades on the lights, I wavered back and forth over ordering the sisal Ballard Designs shades {like Christy used in her kitchen} but haven’t committed to them yet.

It is also nice to now have some storage for the abundance of blankets that are constantly strewn around our family room. I configured a Target knock-off {that sounds strange, aren’t most knock-offs from Target?} but their basket was $40+ and they were sold out of the 16″ one I needed. As luck would have it, I found this one for $16 from Homegoods and just I added a mini-chalkboard, it works fine for me.

And here is a quick picture of my front entry which is just around the corner.  The table is a Homegoods find, the shell actually came from Amazon {here}, by far the best price I have found for a super large shell and it came in 3 days despite the quoted 3 week shipping time.

Phew, now I guess it’s time to pull it all down and decorate for the Holidays, right? This shell just needs to be filled with some sparkling ornaments!
