Spring Wedding Invitations

For my “day” job, I own my own graphic design business, which since the birth of my daughter 2 years ago, I have focused on “lighter” work such as wedding invitations and Christmas cards. I am fortunate enough to be a designer for Envelopments and have all the gorgeous papers and tools they offer at my disposal. Since spring is wedding season, and I have been working hard to get everything done for my lovely brides. I recently finished up this beautiful set of invitations for a bride who is also a good family friend, named Brandy.

Brandy is planning an evening beach wedding in May and wanted to use the elements of the sea, sand and starfish to reflect this in her invitations. My favorite size to use right now is the 7×7 square invitation because its so unexpected. We used a “caspian” paper (a gorgeous sparkly blue/green color) as a base for the envelopes and accent cards (the RSVP, Hotel, etc.). Her white invitation was backed on to a light blue 7×7 card, with a thin bit of a champagne-colored card showing which was layered in between. We used light blue thermography (raised) printing which was gorgeous on the white card. All in all, the entire suite turned out lovely and I know its going to be a gorgeous wedding!

(Note: this paper is gorgeous in person but impossible to photograph…my apologies!)

My next project is a Tiffany’s inspired wedding, I am very excited to work on those invitations…you could say its right up my alley.

More on my business (which is currently closed to new clients until after my summer move) is available on my website, www.gracepaperie.com.

Falling in love with Pink and Orange

By Terry

I had to take a minute and share some photo’s from Bill and Kate’s November 20th nuptials.  Kate was such a classic bride but really wanted a non-traditional color scheme. We had a hard time finding the perfect mix of flowers and colors that would still correspond with the time of year. I reached out to my fabulous florist, Holly Hieder Chapple, and she pulled together a fall color palette unlike anything I have seen.  Hot raspberry pink roses, burnt orange accents and a touch of gold created an amazing theme for Kate’s fall event. The mix of bright fresh flowers and dried gold accents has me falling in love with this event.

I wanted to especially thank Pernell & Karen with Blue Square Photography for providing me (and you) with these beautiful photos. Enjoy!
