I’m not sure why I feel like it should be spring the second I’m done taking the Christmas decorations down–heaven knows, it’s cold enough outside that I should know better! But I still felt like giving the living room a few touches to make it feel brighter and more cheerful. Maybe it’s just a defense mechanism against the fact that it’s dark by 5:30pm?
You’ll remember that we just finished this space recently {here}, although is a space ever really done? The coral lumbar pillow that I monogrammed using gold iron on vinyl gave a great pop of color to the room, so when I found the same shade of coral on a Greek-key style pillow, I snapped it up (sources are at the end of this post).
This is the view from the kitchen. My husband’s old leather recliner is falling to pieces, and he needs a new one, but we can’t agree on a recliner that doesn’t look like a recliner and so I keep delaying!
I also added a faux fur pillow on the bench; my daughter keeps stealing it and taking it up to her room and I keep bringing it back down, so I might just have to get her one of her own!
The gold table is one of my favorite pieces, even though I debated buying it for the longest time. It’s actually a butler’s tray, so you can detach the mirrored gold tray from the legs and use it as a tray depending on your entertaining needs.
Our couch is from Pottery Barn and we’ve had it for fifteen years, so even though I initially balked at the price, we’ve really gotten our money’s worth. That being said, the white slipcovers definitely need to be replaced soon; they’ve been washed dozens and dozens of times and have held up great, but it’s time…plus Sunny chewed on it a bit at the bottom during a thunderstorm (!) and of course that’s right on the front. Why can’t he chew an old sock instead?

Oh, and look at these darling Lilly Pulitzer-inspired Valentine’s treat bags that I made for my daughter to take to school–she just loves them! And yes, I am finally ahead of the game a bit for a holiday (I was getting ready for Christmas up until the last second!). They’re in the Etsy shop as an instant download, either blank (so they work for other things besides Valentine’s Day) or customized by me.
Thanks for stopping by!
