Today I am joining in the Inviting Bedrooms of Summer Tour hosted by Marty from A Stroll Thru Life. Welcome to those of you hopping over from Marty’s home. Every space in her home is carefully cultivated and simply lovely, isn’t it? It’s always an honor to be included on one of her home tours and to follow her lead in the tour line-up makes today extra special!
Today I am sharing my bedroom, which I didn’t include as part of my Summer Home Tour, which you can see here if you missed it. I didn’t do much to this space for summer, the neutral tones work throughout the year.
I did think a bit about swapping out our dark gray velvet curtains for something lighter for summer, and at some point in the future I might move them around seasonally. They feel a little heavy for this time of year, but I have to admit the light control they give the room in the bright morning is nice. I might start changing them seasonally down the road for something lighter.
For now the space isn’t that different than it was in the fall when I decorated this room. If you are interested, I wrote a whole post about how affordable the pieces I selected for the space were. This room was truly done on a budget, you can see that post with the room sources here.
I did have the glass bead chandelier hung last Fall after the post was written so that is new for these photos.
I swapped out some of my bedding and pillow for lighter fabrics this summer, like a white ruffled cotton duvet cover. My daughter currently has the one I typically have in here and instead gave us the one I bought for her room (see that space here) which is by Shabby Chic from Target. This one isn’t currently available but this one is very similar.
I added some of our Annabelle hydrangea in a vintage silver pitcher next to the bed for a summery touch and a lightweight throw at the end of the bed. You can see a wide view of the whole space below.
You can also see below that I added a gold étagère to our sitting room, that space is slowly coming together. I need to fully style the shelves beyond just starting to pile books and pictures on them. The shelves are such a great price that at the rate I am going, I will soon have a set in every room!
I hope you are having a wonderful summer so far, it’s flying by isn’t it? The next stop on the tour is our talented friend Cristina at Remodelando La Casa, you can visit her beautiful bedroom but don’t miss the rest of her home while you are there!
I will leave you with the picture above, did you catch who snuck into the photo? I didn’t realize it until I was editing them, he is so funny. He loves to hide under our bed, but I guess he wanted to be sure he was included in the tour too!
Below are all the room sources~
