It’s just a little over two weeks until Thanksgiving (what?!) and unlike most years, we’re going to be guests rather than hosting a big group at our house.  Part of the reason is that we’re still living in our temporary rental cottage, and while it’s darling, the dining room only seats four and we need room for fourteen!

Whether you’re hosting or guesting this year, today we’re sharing tons of inspiration as part of the Thanksgiving table top tour hosted by Tammy at Pink Peppermint Design (thanks, Tammy!).  And if you’re visiting from Laura at Meaningful Spaces, welcome. Don’t you love how her table isn’t “traditional” fall colors but still captures the warmth of the season?  Me, too!

This year I decided to mix metals (copper and gold) and textures on my table.  I always like to keep it simple; after all, there needs to be plenty of room for all of the food!

My vintage pedestal table has seen quite a few holidays and I rarely use a tablecloth because I love to see the grain of the wood.  My favorite round woven placemats and these sweet little silverware pouches add additional texture (all my sources are linked at the end of the post).

Trader Joe’s never lets me down for flowers and greenery; I mixed and matched several of their bouquets to create this arrangement.

We eat a lot of pomegranates in our house, but first they have to serve as decorations!

Our dining area is open to our kitchen and living room; our entire home right now is about 1400sf so I have to work hard to keep it from getting cluttered.  Here’s the other side of the room:

  1. What an absolutely lovely table! I adore the silverware pouches. They add the perfect touch.

    • Thanks so much, Laura! I can’t wait to head over and check out your pretty table. Can you tell I’m running a little behind this week?!

  2. I love this tablesetting, so pretty. I also love to mix metals, so this is totally me. I need to remember to mix several bouquets together, this looks so pretty.

    • Thank you, Marty! Our closest Trader Joe’s is an hour away so I don’t usually get to buy my flowers there, but I always love it when I have the chance to shop there. I’m looking forward to seeing your table!

  3. Yes, I’m with you…… let the beauty of that wood shine through on your beautiful table. Enjoy your thanksgiving.

  4. The year has flown and yet it’s also another year of enjoying your writings – wishing you and your family a blest Thanksgiving!

    • Thank you so much, Julie! Yes, it has flown by, hasn’t it? Amy and I are both thankful for readers/friends like you who care about reading what we write. We appreciate you–happy Thanksgiving!
