At our house, one of our favorite ways to celebrate the holidays is to share sweet treats with our favorite people, and if you’ve been hanging around here for any length of time, then you know that making the packaging beautiful is just as much fun as giving the gift!

While flowers are the traditional post-performance gift for young dancers, I’ve never met one who didn’t also love nuts, caramel, and chocolate, so of course TURTLES® candies were an easy choice when we decided we wanted to give our daughter something delicious in addition to her post-Nutcracker flowers.  As she’s told me more than once, “Sugar is my love language”!

I used some gold ribbon to create a big, poofy bow (see our tutorials on how to tie a bow {here} and {here}).

And then I created these cute printable nutcracker tags that say, “Have a Sweet Holiday.”  They’re perfect for any young dancing sugarplum who deserves a congratulatory treat after her performance.

They’ll work with white card stock (just cut them out with scissors), or you can print them on pre-perforated tags (like Avery #22802).

We also like to give a small gift to my daughter’s classmates before they begin Christmas break. Since we moved (yet again) this summer, we’re especially thankful for the sweet friends who have made her feel so welcome in her new class.

The sweetest gift is friendship, isn’t it?

The backs of both tags are blank, so you can personalize them however you’d like.

note

Here’s a coupon to save $1 on TURTLES® clusters, so you can share the sweetest gift with all of your favorite people.  I’ll be buying some ASAP for my husband–TURTLES® are his very favorite candy and it’s honestly not Christmas to him without them. #TURTLESjustbecause

Be sure to visit the TURTLES® community on Facebook; they post special offers over there, too.

Have a sweet holiday, enjoy the tags, and thanks for stopping by!

  2. I love this so much!! Thank you! My daughters are in Nutcracker this year and I needed something to add to their gifts. (And by the way…any ideas for gifts are most appreciated! I’m having trouble getting creative for 26 gifts…This year is just candy canes but I’d like to find something more unique and Nutcracker related!

    • Hey, Stephanie–

I’m so glad they’re helpful! I do have several ideas for gifts, although they’re a little more expensive than candy canes (not much though!).

This year, we did bath bombs (I bought them here) with a tag that says “Post-Nutcracker Foot Soak.” Even the guys can use those. I haven’t had a chance to write it up on the blog yet, but I’m emailing you the PDF of the tags in case you want to use it. They print on Avery 22802 tags.

We’ve also made peppermint sugar scrub for the teachers; it’s great for sore feet. That post is {here} and you could certainly use smaller jars and give it to all of the cast.

Covet Dance makes Nutcracker lip balms {here}, or you can find some less expensive ones on Etsy {here}.

I hope that helps, and good luck with Nutcracker season. We are five shows down and seven to go–phew!
