We attended a holiday gathering at the home of our friends Jim and Sandra last weekend. They have a beautiful apartment in downtown Stuttgart that’s only about ten minutes away from us by train, so I popped my sparkly shoes in my tote bag and we jumped on the S-Bahn so we could liberally partake of holiday cheer.
I took photos of their apartment that I’ll probably share next week in a separate post. Sandra is one of the friends that I go “junking” with (although to be fair, very little of what we find in Europe is what I’d consider junk!) and she has a beautiful home.
All of the party photos in this post were taken by Ben Kim, so credit goes to him along with thanks for letting me use his pictures.
I’m starting on the balcony, which she cleverly used to maximize space and keep the charcuterie table and the beverages cold.
The inside was just as beautifully decorated as the terrace.
Probably my favorite part of the menu were the homemade tamales. I got to help make them at a Tamalada that Sandra hosted a few days before the party. We made four different kinds under Sandra’s direction and they were SO good. She also made flour and corn flautas, and then the desserts included a delicious sopapilla cheesecake as well as other treats. We rolled home!
It was a truly lovely evening and such a blessing to be able to gather with friends to celebrate the Christmas season. I hope you enjoyed the photos!
