I thought I’d show you some of the spring touches I’ve added to the house over the last few weeks. It’s been warm here in Savannah for quite awhile–I’m wearing flipflops already!
It is still raining quite frequently, so my rainboots hardly ever make it back into the closet! A lime green pillow brightens up my grey cane chairs, and a few Easter eggs in an apothecary jar are an easy-to-change seasonal touch.
In our dining room, I tend to use our open shelving for holiday decorating, and spring is no exception. A “Happy Easter” banner from Target adds color:
And a few dried hydrangeas in a silver thrift store champagne bucket decorate the buffet.
Instead of a bar cart, I use a mirrored tray to display pretty vintage decanters that were my grandmother’s and a mix of liquor bottles. That’s not to say that I won’t break down and buy a bar cart in the near future–they certainly are a fun and versatile furniture choice!
Our living room is pretty neutral, with lots of black and white, so I change out the throw pillows and other small decor accessories for the seasons. To welcome spring, I added pops of gold and coral.
Our living room is open to our kitchen, so all the colors have to work together. I do carry several light fixtures with me when we move, including this carriage-style chandelier, and I just hang them up at the next house. All of the fixtures that stay with the house are stashed under my bed right now!
A bunch of tulips in a vintage aqua Ball jar brightens things up on my kitchen table. The styrofoam eggs were made by my mother when I was little and one of them has a bite mark in them from me–they looked good enough to eat!
A few more tulips and a pot of lavender sit behind my kitchen sink–I spend a lot of time here, so I want it to be pretty!
The plate rack gets some spring touches, too, with boxwood topiaries:
And the rabbit plates are perfect for Easter:
I know that the powder room isn’t normally a room that gets decorated for spring, but I thought a few touches of blue and gray would be fun–and I love the little bicycle plate that I found at Target!
I think we’re ready for spring, don’t you?
