I’ve been doing a little touch up painting as we get ready for our move in a few short months (thank you, HomeRight PaintStick!) and so today I’m sharing the dining room.
Read more about my handy-dandy PaintStick in {this} post.
I’m not the only one who gets the house just the way I want it right before we move, am I?
The buffet is adorned with 99% thrifted goodies; the gold lamps with the square shades (the lamps were hot pink when I bought them), the gold and white Limoges china, the bust of David, and the fabulous Italian mirror that I scored for $35 at Habitat. I’ll have a full source list at the end of the post.
The darling little Wedgwood dish is from one of my favorite local antique shops. And when it comes to accessories, I have an admitted tassel addiction (don’t judge).
I also have a gold mirror addiction. As I constantly remind myself, there are worse things I could love than tassels and gold mirrors!
Boxwood and a little more blue and white top the table in front of the window.
My mom’s secretary holds lots–and lots–of stationery. We all have personalized note cards and I’ll admit to being a bit of a stickler about thank you notes. If you send my kids (or me) a gift, you will get a thank you note!
The table and chairs used to be dark wood to match the buffet, but were so damaged in one of our many moves that I opted to paint and recover the chairs. You can see the details in {this} post, and the project was featured in the book Upstyle Your Furniture a few years ago.
If we were going to be around for a few more months, I’d want to put some decorative plates around the mirror, but there’s no sense making more nail holes now!
The enormous apothecary jar on the table gets pressed into service frequently when we’re entertaining. I like to fill it with Chex mix or other snacks and put a silver scoop in there. For today, though, it’s holding my blue willow balls.
We’ve made some great memories around this table over the past almost-two years.
I’m almost embarrassed to say that’s yet another gold mirror by the stairs, but then I realize that no, I’m actually not.
I hope you enjoyed the quick tour!
