Its no secret we shake up a few martinis around here {see HERE, HERE, and HERE if you are thirsty, or below.}

We have other areas where we tend to mix or serve drinks, but this little wine rack has been with my husband and me since our newlywed days. It’s been relegated to a dining room corner, and while I didn’t really want to get rid of it there wasn’t much exciting about it anymore. Its days were getting numbered.
However, I have been on a huge “gold” kick, spray painting pretty much anything that doesn’t move Rust-Oleum’s Metallic Gold (this exact color). It was one of those light bulb moments, and suddenly this wine rack was next on this list. I was feeling pretty indifferent about it before, and now I admit I LOVE it.
This project is proof that a little spray paint can resurrect just about anything. It’s just so much more interesting now, don’t you think?
A few different accessories on the top, and this boring wine rack has started its next life as a spruced-up Martini Bar.
The cute martini napkins were part of my welcome present from our visit to Christy’s this holiday. She also brought me the gold martini glass as part of a hostess present many years ago, this is the last one that remains. I figured it was good to immortalize it on the blog before I broke it. Which, I inevitably will. The tray was a birthday present from my Mom, so I can’t tell you the source but I adore it and it’s perfect in its new spot. The dotted frame was 58 cents at Target, a nice little bargain, if you hurry they probably have a few left {considering my Target had about 100!}.
Here is the before and after just one more time, because I am just tickled by how much I like my new gold “Martini Bar” now.
Projects like this leave me wondering, how did people get by before there was spray paint?
