Spring Wedding Invitations

For my “day” job, I own my own graphic design business, which since the birth of my daughter 2 years ago, I have focused on “lighter” work such as wedding invitations and Christmas cards. I am fortunate enough to be a designer for Envelopments and have all the gorgeous papers and tools they offer at my disposal. Since spring is wedding season, and I have been working hard to get everything done for my lovely brides. I recently finished up this beautiful set of invitations for a bride who is also a good family friend, named Brandy.

Brandy is planning an evening beach wedding in May and wanted to use the elements of the sea, sand and starfish to reflect this in her invitations. My favorite size to use right now is the 7×7 square invitation because its so unexpected. We used a “caspian” paper (a gorgeous sparkly blue/green color) as a base for the envelopes and accent cards (the RSVP, Hotel, etc.). Her white invitation was backed on to a light blue 7×7 card, with a thin bit of a champagne-colored card showing which was layered in between. We used light blue thermography (raised) printing which was gorgeous on the white card. All in all, the entire suite turned out lovely and I know its going to be a gorgeous wedding!

(Note: this paper is gorgeous in person but impossible to photograph…my apologies!)

My next project is a Tiffany’s inspired wedding, I am very excited to work on those invitations…you could say its right up my alley.

More on my business (which is currently closed to new clients until after my summer move) is available on my website, www.gracepaperie.com.

Glitz and Glamour New Years Eve Wedding Inspiration Board

Ringing in a New Year is always such an exciting time for me as a wedding planner. New clients begin to call and share their exciting holiday engagement stories as well as begin taking steps towards the planning of their up-in-coming nuptials. I love the initial phase in the planning process because we get to discuss in great detail their “dream” wedding. This is typically a time when they dream BIG and the details are exquisite.

I decided for this New Years inspiration board I would dream BIG and host a fabulous Glitz and Glamour New Years Eve Wedding here at 11 Magnolia Lane!!!
I hope this makes you feel “Newly” inspired as we ring in 2011!
