Our Top Posts of 2012

Happy New Year everyone! This year just FLEW  by, didn’t it?

We thought we’d do a quick recap of our top {the ‘most read’ according to google analytics} posts this year, just in case you missed anything :)

Christy’s North Carolina Pantry lives on…and on…and on, thanks to Pinterest {oh, how we love thee, Pinterest!}

Christy’s Kitchen Makeover follows next.  The Better Homes & Gardens Real-Life Kitchens & Baths issue featuring this kitchen should be out any day!

Christy’s Kitchen Re-do

Her adjacent Laundry Room also got prettied up, and it’s another “top post.”  This room is in the current issue of Cottages & Bungalows magazine!

My Kids’ Bathroom makeover follows next. I called it a Part 1 post because I intended on doing some more work to the mirror, but that will have to fall into our “goals” post, I suppose!

Terry’s Kids’ Learning Center is our next most-read post; her basement is amazing and such a great use of space.

Next up is Christy’s {New} Pantry Makeover.  In this post she also reveals that Better Homes is on their way to photograph her house for this spring’s Kitchens special issue.

Next up is a post with a great tip–an easy way to hang silver platters on the wall.

This tutorial post was next with a very useful chalkboard  “Out of Treats” sign to end Halloween on your terms :)

Terry’s Camping Themed Birthday party she threw for her son is our last but not least, “most popular” post.

As always, thanks for visiting us! We are looking forward to an exciting 2013.

XO,

Decorating a Dream Nursery

Is there anything sweeter, or more sentimental then decorating a nursery for a new baby? In all my homes, my baby rooms will always be the most special to me. The 9 (long!) months you wait for the arrival baby are the perfect time to create a special place for the newest member of your family.

There are so many tools out there now that can help with this huge decision–colors, decor, theme, gender nuetral? (or pink or blue?) The inspiration is just endless. Oh to have had Pinterest back when I was planning a nursery…

Nursery Designed by Windsor Smith

This nursery, by Windsor Smith, is one of my all time favorites. It must have been designed for twins, and it’s perfection.

Restoration Hardware Baby & Child has taken sophisticated baby rooms to the next level, I often find items in this catalog that inspire decor in other rooms of my house. The luck of a baby to sleep in such an elegant space.

Do you remember this gorgeous nursery we featured last fall? What I love is how timeless this room is. It will be perfect for their daughter until she goes to college.

Terry and I both recently “oohed & ahhhed” over this sweet baby girl nursery created on the Style Network show The Amandas…

Nursery by The Amandas

As I decorated my three rooms, the thing I always struggled with was choosing a paint color. My husband swears its a “being pregnant” thing but the perfect paint color was ALWAYS wrong when it went on the wall…my first son’s nursery was more “periwinkle” then blue (very masculine, huh?) and my second son’s room was much more “apple green” then light green. We lived with it, but my perfectionistic self would have preferred the color to be closer to what I hoped for.

Glidden Paint has a GREAT solution–they are introducing a new line of Baby Room Colors from Glidden, as well as an interactive tool to help expecting parents chose just the right color.

In addition, they are giving away a $2500 gift card to one lucky set of parents to be. CLICK HERE for more information on this giveaway!

What is your dream nursery? Are you as sentimental about those rooms as I am?
