Baby Boy Inspiration Board and Maternity Thrift Store Find

As most of you know I am expecting my third baby in early Spring.  This will be my third boy, and we are all very excited.  We are working through the name game (although I think we found one:),  we’re discussing nursery colors, and purchasing lots of adorable baby boy clothes.  Look at all the great ideas I have found on the web to keep me inspired:

The one thing I have not focused on is my maternity style.   I have some maternity clothes from my past two pregnancies as well as some clothes from my sister.  It really has been just enough to get by these past few months.  With Thanksgiving and Christmas right around the corner, I definitely need to up my maternity style and invest in some updated maternity fashion.

Here is my latest purchase from a local consignment shop! (Sorry for the blurry photography, it was hard to keep steady:)

I think I may need to add a pair of Spanx for Thanksgiving Day as this dress shows all my maternity curves:)

Although it is not maternity, it is a stretch jersey material and a size larger than I normally wear, so it fits my changing body.  It is also Boden so it is well made and a brand I personally love.  This dress retails close to $100 and I got it for $15, what a steal!   I think it is perfect for Thanksgiving and works well with my growing baby bump.

Side Profile, 20 weeks and counting!

Jewelry makes all the difference. Stella and Dot Snake Pendant Necklace, House of Harlow Gold Medallion Necklace and my favorite Michael Kors Rose Gold Watch!!

Giveaway: Hand-Stamped Silver Necklace by Pure Gratitude

We’ve got an amazing giveaway for you guys this week, just in time for the holidays!  Our friend Michelle at Pure Gratitude is graciously donating this gorgeous hand-stamped silver necklace to one of our followers:

This necklace is extra-special because it’s part of Michelle’s 2012 collection for My Heart Your Hands.  I wrote about my cousin Stephanie and her not-for-profit {here} and would ask you to please take the time to read that post, if you haven’t already, because the work my cousin does is very important (you can follow Steph on Twitter @myHEARTyrHANDS).  All five items in Michelle’s My Heart Your Hands collection are dedicated to the cancer survivor community, and 25% of the profits from those pieces go to MHYH.  I love that the message of this necklace is one of “hope.”

Michelle has some other amazing pieces, too.  The family monogram necklace is one of my favorites.  Amy and Terry, would you mind emailing my husband with that little tidbit in time for Christmas, please?!

I’m also partial to this silver circle bracelet–so dainty!

I also love the meaning behind the name “Pure Gratitude.”  Michelle writes that, “At Pure Gratitude we celebrate life.  Life is a valuable gift, our joys and journeys are what make us unique.  We believe in giving thanks, capturing every moment and generous giving.”  Isn’t that the perfect sentiment for this month of Thanksgiving?

***This giveaway starts today and goes through Wednesday, November 14th at noon (central time).  We’ll announce the winner on Thursday, November 15th.  Here’s how to enter:

Organized Jewelry

OK, so this is what the top of my dresser used to look like…my jewelry was always overflowing my jewelry box. I admit I like ‘clunky’ jewelry so it takes up a lot of space!

Inspired by my dear friend Lydia, of BLESS THIS MESS Professional Organizing, I made this Jewelry Organizer after seeing how she organizes her jewelry.

{see pic below}

Lydia's Jewelry Perfectly Organized!

Its VERY easy,  I just took a regular artist’s canvas (available at Michaels, JoAnn’s etc) and covered it with some fabric I had already, just using a staple gun to attach the fabric along the back of the canvas.

Then I attached cabinet knobs–just the kind available at any Home Center– I bought (cheap) plain silver ones. I just drilled in little holes, inserted the screw that came with them, and then screwed them in along the edges of the canvas (obviously, where the wood frame is).

I also added some foam board (what I had lying around, thus the lovely navy blue color) to the back–adhered with glue–so I could also use pins or tacks to hold lighter pieces.

I added some wire to hang it, and here it is complete with my organized jewelry collection!

I love it, it actually makes picking a piece to wear out so much easier!
