St. Patrick’s Day Style (for Ladies)

After being fortunate enough to live in Savannah for two years, I now realize that St. Patrick’s Day is a big, huge deal in some parts of the country.  Savannah boasts the third-largest St. Patrick’s Day parade in the country, and the city swells with tourists during the week surrounding March 17th.

While most of the out of town visitors are in very casual clothing (t-shirts and sparkly green beads are the order of the day, decorated with splashes of green beer), the locals dress up for the parade, and then most of them get the heck out of the downtown and River Street areas until the tourists go home!

Because we’ll be in Savannah over the holiday, visiting friends, there’s a chance we’ll head down to the parade, and I’ve already got a few possibilities picked out. Kelly or emerald green is one of my absolute favorite colors, year round, so I’m always looking for ways to add it to my wardrobe.  Here are a few of my favorites:

This shade of green looks wonderful paired with navy, white, or even black, and obviously less is more–so I just wear one or two green items at a time.  For shoes, leopard and gold are a great match with kelly green, too.

I’m working on another post with my favorite St. Patty’s Day clothes for guys, so stay tuned.

Enjoy your “wearing of the green” this year, and thanks for stopping by!
