Holiday Home Tour-Ashly’s House

Traditional blue and white Christmas decor | 11 Magnolia Lane

Tomorrow’s Christmas Eve, and I’m spending it a few hours away from home as my daughter completes her last three Nutcracker performances (phew!).  We’ve had a great run, but I am looking forward to a few quiet days at home in the near future.

Today I’m sharing my friend Ashly’s home, and just like Danielle’s house earlier this week, it’s just full of gorgeousness!  And if you love blue and white, you’re going to adore her home.

This post has a ton of photos; I had an impossible time cutting any, so just kick back and relax and enjoy.

The vintage sewing chest in the entry is the perfect petite size for a lamp.

The living room is a peaceful neutral palette, with lots of magnolia leaves and boxwood.

The vintage sofa has been reupholstered in pale blue velvet.

Blue ornaments and feathers accent the tree.

A few peacock feathers mixed in the magnolia leaves are such a pretty touch on the mantel!

Ashly’s office is the perfect spot for crafting:

One of my favorite things is the vintage silver champagne bucket that she uses to hold her Christmas tree:

In the dining room, the blue and white theme continues:

The dresser was a score from our favorite thrift shop; I found a similar piece there for my living room.

I didn’t get too many shots of the kitchen, although it’s gorgeous, too.  We were wrapping gifts and addressing Christmas cards the day I was over, so we were using this as our work space!

Even the powder room is ready for the holiday:

Ashly’s master bedroom is so peaceful and relaxing, with blues, grays, and lots of white.

Upstairs is her daughter’s room and a den/playroom for the kids.

Her daughter is one of my daughter’s besties and they both love this aqua blue right now:

I love how it looks with black and white accents (and gold, of course!).

She’s a ballerina, too.  Dead pointe shoes are essential tree decor when you’re a dancer!

The playroom has the cutest built-ins under the eaves.

And of course the front porch is decorated beautifully, too:

I hope you loved Ashly’s beautiful home–it’s one of my favorite places to visit because every inch is so thoughtfully decorated (and because she’s pretty awesome, too).  You can visit her at her blog {here} for more inspiration.

Merry Almost Christmas, and thanks for stopping by!

  1. I have loved all the home tours. 2 things I’ve learned is I want a flocked tree and I love mercury glass more than ever.

Although I would like to know how Ashley did the ribbon on her tree. 🙂

    MERRY CHRISTMAS ~

    • Here’s what Ashly told me, June:
“It’s sorta hard to explain but first start with 2-3 different ribbons that vary in widths, color, & texture. Begin by wiring the ends of each together then wire that to the back side of the top of the tree. Use the gather swoop technique (ha) then wire that section to the tree. Continued on down the tree until the desired look is achieved. I like to cover the wire (that connects the ribbon to the tree) up with a group of bulbs wired together. “

  2. Beautiful in every corner. 🙂
